Within the last few years I moved to Chandlers Ford, and being a person of a certain age have found life challenging meeting new people and getting around. Being alone is in itself a challenge; there must be others out there who would welcome a slow walk with a cup of tea or coffee at the end. Not for me the brisk walking. A phone call when you need someone to talk to. A trip in the car, it goes on and on, and don’t talk to me about holidays. Where can my dog and I go. I know you’ll say plenty of companies out there who can arrange things like that, but if you are disabled and not confident enough to drive long distances alone then what. Okay trains are good, but imagine, case, stick and dog, do you get the picture?!
Connect in later life…
I started this blog to try to combat the loneliness that can creep up on those of us who are a little older (I am in my 70s).
I would love to read your comments, contributions to discussions or even just random thoughts!
