End Loneliness

I saw Susanna Reid on Loose Women talking about the One Million Minutes initiative by Good Morning Britain:

There are more than 1 million older people who are chronically lonely. Yet it only takes a minute to make someone’s day.

Christmas and the New Year is one of the loneliest times for older people. That’s why Good Morning Britain is launching our 1 Million Minutes campaign to ask you to pledge just 30 minutes of your time to help an older person.

Looking at their website they’ve received pledges of over 30 million minutes so far, which is wonderful.

In this spirit I would like to encourage anyone who reads this to spread the word about my blog, I would love to make contact with as many older people as I can, whether online or by phone. I’ve added a Get In Touch page with a little contact form, please do use it!

This is my mission for 2017! I have a particular empathy with loneliness in young mums as I was once one of them – but loneliness across all ages needs to be addressed – makes me want to cry just thinking about it. It would be great to meet up and have a chat.
