Unopened wine

As we near the end of 2016 and looking forward to the New Year (or not) every time I open the fridge there is one bottle of wine unopened just waiting to be drunk. I bought it along with others when I invited friends for Christmas drinks and nibbles.

It was not opened so it still languished in the fridge. Since Christmas day I have wanted to open that bottle but all was against me. No bottle opener. Walked to Tesco’s they don’t sell them. Borrowed some but promptly left it behind when I left for home.

Finally at Waitrose I bought some. I was really looking forward to relaxing in front of the television with a glass of bubbly – then I couldn’t pull the cork out. Luckily my daughter arrived and she quickly remedied the situation. Glass at the ready one sip then oh dear it was horrible and I poured the rest down the sink.

This morning I’m going to go out and buy a nice sparkling wine that I can drink.

Have a great day even though it’s really cold and foggy out there. Take care.
